Sam’s branching sonic endeavors are rooted in a deep regard for the innately intertwined facets of our world, the overlaps between disciplines, ideas, structures, things. He approaches composition from this perspective, weaving together sonic figures in a host of unexpected melodic, harmonic, rhythmic, and textural interactions — musical synergies, conflicts, arguments, resolutions — to form ever-evolving musical civilizations of instrumental communication, and ever-evolving musical moments of feeling and influence.
